The struggle

Woke up this morning, 2 hours early because husband has jury duty. Joy.

Tiny humans went to bed 2 hours late last night because we went to dinner with friends. They’re a hot mess. Tiny humans don’t understand the beauty of sleeping in. They awoke at the crack of sunrise. On a day when there is no adult back up for me.

Had to take big kid to summer camp this morning. Survive the morning with minimal scolding and arguing. Call that a win for the week folks!

I am awake, showered, clean gym clothes on and ready for a work out only to drive all the way to drop kids off with my mom and my tiniest human has a TOTAL melt down, low fever and tears like a waterfall. Since I have clearly set the stage for a successful day, I pack up everything and head back home so tiny people can eat breakfast at home and watch cartoons all day long.

Now comes the dilemma…

I am slated to have 3 couples over for dinner tonight. They are all in their 20’s, no children, and we had planned dinner and cards. Do I re-shower simply to wash my hair and blow dry it so I look like a respectable human, or do I stay in my clean and comfy workout clothing all day with a messy bun and 3 day hair????

The struggle is real.
