The sun went down, darkness abounds. Even the moon is hiding it’s face tonight.
Broken hearts abound tonight.
Our community works in circles. Church circles, school circles, mommy group circles, and such.
Sometimes our circles intersect.
Tonight, our circles intersected tragically and we all took pause. A little boy’s life hangs on the edge of this world and the next. A blonde, beautiful, little boy. Slipping from this earth and into the hands of Jesus.
All of us mothers, texting, praying, waiting, praying, crying, praying, rechecking our babies in their beds as they sleep, begging our brains not to think about the news. Desperate to not wander into the thought of a sweet little boy not waking up at home tomorrow to play.
My 5 year old woke up from sleep. I often rush him back to bed, but now I pull him close and whisper a prayer of thanks for the opportunity of one more tomorrow. And pray for a sweet mama who is holding her baby boy as tightly as she can tonight, as she spends the last night with him.
Jesus. Be near.
