I love “I love You”

I love holidays like Valentine’s Day! I know so many people say it just a money maker event for Hallmark cards and flower shops, but I love it. Any time we can celebrate love, marriage, relationships, I’m on board. This world has too much hard stuff, so any chance for fun and love and why not make the most of it?!?!

When a girlfriend told me about a wedding gift idea she was working on for a friend and needed Scripture verses it got me thinking. I started thinking and perusing my Bible and reading all my highlighted verses, marked comments and looking through my prayer journals. It prompted me to think about the 30 days leading up to Valentine’s Day and ways we as women can be encouraging our men in prayer.

So for the next 30 Days I’ll be praying these verses of Scripture over my marriage. I created a printable form with some of the verses I have used in the past and areas of which I enjoy praying for my husband.  You can download and print the prayer guide below.

What if we’re not married?

Prayer is prayer! If you’re engaged or dating and hope to marry one day, pray these verses for the man you hope to marry or even just in faith for the man God will bring to you.

What is my husband isn’t a believer?

All the more reason to be in the discipline of praying for him! Praying for and over our men is powerful and they never have to know about it. But feel free to encourage your husband and let him know you pray for him daily.

This of course is not an exhaustive list of areas in which to pray for your husband. It’s just a starting point. Several years ago I read the book, “Power of a Praying Wife” by Stormie Omartian and it changed the way I look at my marriage and my power in prayer. If you haven’t read that book, be sure to pick it up and read it. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Praying for my husband keeps my heart humble before God, helps dissipate tension and stress from our everyday lives and softens my heart toward God and my husband.

Will you join this 30 day challenge with me? Let’s be women of prayer in our marriages! Send me a comment if you’re joining me in this! I’d love to hear from you. Click on the image below for your printable.
